Männliche Polizeibeamte aus Victoria werden beschuldigt, vorgetäuscht zu haben, nicht-binär zu sein, um eine Aufwandsentschädigung von 1.300 Dollar für Frauenkleidung zu erhalten

Eine Meldung, die schon aufgrund ihrer Absurdität schön ist:

Under the Victorian Police’s civilian clothing scheme, female and gender-neutral officers can claim about $1,300 more per year than their male colleagues. 

Warum man bei der australischen Polizei als Frau und als Non-Binary mehr Geld  für Kleidung bekommt würde mich interessieren. Auch, warum sie überhaupt Geld für anscheinend private Kleidung bekommen. Habe aber leider nichts dazu gefunden.

Aber es zeigt mal wieder, dass Leute kein Problem haben sich auf eine bestimmte Art und Weise zu bezeichnen, wenn ihnen das Vorteile bringt. Und ich könnte mir auch gut vorstellen, dass es eine Reaktion darauf ist, dass das ein ungerechter Bonus ist. Non-binary hat ja auch keinen wirklichen Inhalt.

But a major crackdown is now underway targeting those exploiting the scheme with investigators executing a search warrant at Frankston station in Melbourne’s south.

‚Professional Standards Command detectives are conducting an investigation into fraudulent civilian clothing allowance claims,‘ Victorian Police told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday.

‚Investigators have so far interviewed seven male officers in relation to the matter over the past several weeks and a search warrant was also executed at a Southern Region police station on 21 July as part of the investigation.‘

Da würde ich als Mann auch gnadenlos lügen und anführen, dass ich mich sehr nonbinary fühle und einfach ein paar „weiblichere Sachen“ anführen, die ich mag. Was wollen sie dagegen sagen?

Victoria Police’s Chief Commissioner Shane Patton opened an investigation into the rort after a big rise in the number of officers identifying as non-binary. 

Das ist doch begrüßenswert, dass endlich mehr Leute aus der Binarität ausbrechen!

In an internal message, Commissioner Patton said that ‚conduct of this sort, if validated, is not acceptable and falls far short of the standards I expect from Victoria Police members,‘ The Age reported.

The self-describing of an officer’s gender was introduced three years ago to support gender diverse employees.

Und oh wunder, es wird auf eine Selbstbeschreibung abgestellt und das wie oben schon gesagt bei etwas so formlosen wie nonbinary und die Leute nutzen es aus.

‚This behaviour has had a significant impact on our gender diverse employees and our reputation among the Victorian LGBTIQ+ community,‘ the commissioner said.

‚If validated, I will find it very disappointing that those employees have engaged in such conduct, exploiting an entitlement for those who identify as gender diverse.‘

Those who want to keep getting the extra fortnightly allowance now have to make a sworn statement that they are non-binary. 

Dann müsste man ja erst einmal eine genaue Definition haben ab wann diese Aussage falsch bzw richtig ist.

Nicht-binäre (Englisch „non-binary“) Menschen haben eine Geschlechtsidentität, die weder-noch, also weder ganz/immer weiblich, noch ganz/immer männlich ist.

Wer ist schon GANZ männlich? ich zB finde Bundesliga-Fußball überwiegend langweilig, habe alle Folgen von Sex and the City und Queer as folk geschaut und finde es auch mal ganz schön der kleine Löffel zu sein. Das sollte doch eigentlich reichen.

‚As enquiries are ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time,‘ the spokesperson said.

In March, Commissioner Patton said 17 officers had been fired for misconduct over the previous year and 31 others resigned while being investigated.

He told reporters that officers engaging in serious misconduct should expect to be sacked except in very limited circumstances.

‚I don’t step away from this. I make no apologies,‘ the commissioner said.

‚It sounds severe, but it is severe because we as an organisation can’t afford to have our reputation tarnished by a very small few, and I know that the police officers, the vast majority, are very much behind me on this.‘

Statt sich in solcher Nonbinary Feindseligkeit zu ergehen, sollten sie lieber die gleichen Beträge für alle auszahlen.
