Ein interessanter Beitrag in dem Feminismus Bereich bei Reddit:
One of the most frustrating things to deal with as a feminist is the internalized mysoginy of other women
Like how are u as a woman turning your back against other women? And it’s always the mad privileged women who don’t even face sexism in their lives who refuse to support or stand up for other women. „Why do we even need feminism?“ We need it because women are not safe. Period. Regardless of your situation, most women in this world are simply not safe, and we can’t bring a new generation of girls into this world and not give them a space to be safe and comfortable. I also hate how these women find it so much easier to sympathize with men rather than women. Like every time I mention my struggles as a girl, they go „yeah, BUT MEN“ completely invalidating and downplaying my problems. It’s just so disappointing and lame to see other WOMEN act this way.
„Internalisierte Misogynie“ ist echt ein so geniales Konzept um jede Kritik abzuwehren. Frauen nehmen nicht am Freiheitskampf teil, fühlen sich nicht unterdrückt, widersprechen einfach?
Man kann ihre Auffassungen einfach komplett entwerten mit „die begreifen halt die Realität nicht“
Und aus den Kommentaren
Feminism and race 1000% need to be taught about more in schools. Everyone needs to know that these issues still exist and make sure they arent ignorant to it. Thanks a fucking lot to FLORIDA for fucking up a lot of progress.
100% agree, i think womens studies and black studies should be mandatory for all students and also stuff about intersectionality. Its been meticulously cherry picked out of our education but its critical to understanding history and social studies
Your mistake here is assuming they’re like other girls. Jk though
I think there maybe comes a point where it would be too painful to acknowledge how bent their systems are. Like a lot of women who hold the most internalized misogyny come from conservative backgrounds or are part of a conservative family or church or something, so we know they are facing sexism but everyone and everything they know is tied up in it so they see it as having to shift their entire worldview and see it in a “bad” light. (I’m not saying it’s actually a zero-sum game but that’s how they might).
And definitely for some, like you say, it’s working enough for them they aren’t going to want to change. They’re privileged so there’s no incentive there.
„Es ist einfach zu schwer aus dem Patriarchat rauszukommen, deswegen denken sie es sich schön“. Wie könnte es auch anders sein?
Und natürlich der Klassiker:
Also, for a lot of women in these conservative circles, they can actually have a lot of “power” over other women and have greater social standing if they toe the line of the patriarchy. Those that venture too far out of what is acceptable are outcast.
TLDR: in a fucked up way, women who preserve the patriarchy have more social power and benefit in their social circles than those that rebel against it. Even though they’re still under the thumb of the men.
Source: was former Christian conservative woman.
You should meet my mother. She’s a proudly self-proclaimed misogynist. She will gleefully tell me how much she hates women, and how difficult women are. She insists that women are too emotional and that men are usually right.
If I say anything to her, she will ignore it, but will listen to my partner instead, even if he’s saying the same thing.
She refuses to work with women her own age in her shop, and will only hire younger women or girls because „they don’t back chat and know their place.“ She recently fired a woman who had been there for 11 years because she „didn’t know her place“.
I’m honestly waiting for they day she gets called into an employment tribunal.
The kicker? She’s the most emotionally unstable wreck of human I’ve ever met. She can’t control her temper and has meltdowns over the slightest thing. She has zero emotional resilience. She is everything she claims to hate.
