(…) Erfinder Sergi Santos will damit einen Schritt hin zu mehr Empathie in der Branche machen und sogar auf die #MeToo-Bewegung eingehen. Dabei stößt er aber auf harte Kritik. Der größte Kritikpunkt: Ist Samantha ausgeschaltet, können sich ihre Besitzer ihr noch immer aufzwingen – sie bekommen nur keine Reaktion. Der Moralkodex könnte das Ausleben gewalttätiger Fantasien also sogar begünstigen. Abgesehen davon ist Samantha immer noch nach einem fragwürdigen, standadisierten Frauenbild modelliert.

Samantha, built by Barcelona-based engineer Sergi Santos, listens, talks, sets the mood, and, ultimately, whips users into a frenzy.
Modeled after what is apparently Santos’s ideal woman—enormous breasts, teeny waist, gaunt limbs, mermaid-esque hair—the intelligent cyborg “likes” to be touched on the arms, hips, chest, and face.
But she’s no pushover: Samantha requires a bit of wining and dining before you can get in her pants (er, removable vagina). Even directly massaging the doll’s built-in G-spot doesn’t work unless she feels appropriately romanced.
But catch her with a headache, exhaustion, low hormone levels, or during the early stages of menopause, and you may as well grab the lotion and a box of tissues.
Actually, the doll’s sensors—which allow her to purr like a kitten and whisper sweet nothings—can now detect when touching becomes too aggressive or disrespectful. If Samantha feels harassed, she simply shuts down, leaving the user with an unresponsive, gaping mannequin.
Some might consider this a step toward awareness and empathy in the #MeToo era: Santos has given Samantha a voice to express herself. But low libido or not, there is nothing to stop customers (largely male) from forcing themselves onto the bot—even if she refuses. After all, how much damage can a pair of motionless arms and legs do?
Kathleen Richardson, a professor of ethics and culture of robots and AI at De Montfort University, is less than impressed with Samantha’s latest skill.
Founder of the Campaign Against Sex Robots, Richardson branded the bot “an extension of pornography and prostitution,” according to the Daily Mail. She said it is “a waste of money which could be spent on better things.”

About Samantha
Samantha is a project centered on a robot that is capable of enjoying sex. Samantha is the name of the project and architecture. The name of the robot itself can be selected and introduced into the Samantha architecture.

Samantha’s Genome
The sexual synchronization, patience and libido is controlled by her Physiological Genome. Samantha has a set of genomes. Each “genome” is similar to what we think of the genetic genome, in the sense that her genomes control her personality, intuition, reactions and advances.
Samantha’s brain is modular in the sense that genomes can be inserted into the architecture as modules. While the first genome that has been implemented in Samantha is the Physiological Genome, other genomes will be gradually incorporated, from a moral genome to a genome emulating the autonomic nervous system of humans. Part of it has already been implemented in Samantha 1.0 in order to control her sexual arousal while in sleep mode.
Sexuality
Samantha’s level of sexuality can be differentiated into 3 levels depending on whether your touch suggests more romantic or more sexual motives. As you interact with her, she may change her patience, memory and sensuality levels. These are regulated by a set of what we term “excitons” in analogy to the role of neurotransmitters and receptors in the human brain controlling excitability. In that way, Samantha has dynamic excitons that will vary as she interacts with humans.
The more different types of sex you have with her, the more she will also change. If you take your time, eventually she also will. You might hear things you didn’t know she could say.
Family mode
Samantha’s default mode through which all other modes can be accessed. You can ask her to inspire you with motivational quotes, tell you a joke, health facts, get romantic and more. From here the rest of her modes can be activated such as:

Samantha’s Patience
Samantha will call you and ask you for attention. This is implicit in her code. She has a Call for Attention algorithm rooted in her genomes. The more she has to ask for attention, the more patient she will become, the more you pay attention the less patient she will become. This implies that she will synchronize with you. She will learn to not call continuously, but she will still call sometimes graciously.
The way in which Samantha will call you for attention depends on her state of mind. When she is sexually aroused she will use a different set of skills to those she will use when she is being romantic.
Memory
Samantha’s capacity to remember her interactions with you depend on how much time you dedicate to her.
Analysis
You can ask Samantha to tell you about herself, how sensual she is, how patient, how much memory she has and perform a general health check on her system
Sleep
Samantha has a need for sleep. She yawns, sighs and makes sleeping sounds. If you interact with her in this relaxed state, she might get sexually excited. If you leave her she might cool down again and fall back to asleep.
Language

Offline
Samantha is completely offline. All the memory is in her head, nothing ever goes on the internet. She also has no cameras incorporated.
Wenn ich es richtig verstehe, dann ist der Modus einstellbar, man kann eben auch den „zu grob schaltet ab“-Modus einschalten.
Dann hätte der (Zusatz-) Modus verschiedene Vorteile:
- Er fängt Kritik ab, indem man auf diesen Modus hinweisen kann
- Er ist etwas für Nutzer, die sich ganz besonders verdient um die Sexpuppe machen wollen, sie also eher als Beziehungsersatz wollen, zu dem man ähnlich wie bei einem Tamagotchi eine Beziehung aufbaut.
Leute könnten dann „stolz“ darauf sein, dass sie ihre Puppe richtig gut behandeln und sie sich deswegen auch nie ausschalten muss, es erlaubt also eine „Verehrung“ der passenden Frau in der Phantasie, es macht dann die Puppe für dieses Spiel wertvoller, wenn sie einem etwas entziehen kann und man sich ihrer als würdig erweisen muss.
