Der Text wurde schon an anderer Stelle häufig zitiert, ich möchte es aber dennoch auch hier noch mal tun. Rachel Edwards erklärt Feministen, dass ihre gesamte Bewegung, in der sich über Kleinigkeiten aufgeregt wird, nur dann in dieser Form bestehen kann, wenn Frauen eben gerade nicht mehr unterdrückt werden, da eine solche Protestbewegung dann schlicht keinen Fuß auf den Boden bekommen würde:
The kinds of countries that suffer from actual oppression can not protest, because they don’t have the right to protest. If they protest someone will shoot them where they stand and their bodies will be promptly cleaned off the sidewalk. Feminism can only exist in the kinds of countries that are doing so well that they don’t have to consider eating rats for much needed sustainance. It can only exist in a place with enough human rights, to care that you as a woman are a little upset.
In der Tat ist aus meiner Sicht das Unterdrückungsszenario, welches teilweise im Feminismus behauptet wird, kaum mit den Freiheiten, die Feministinnen haben zu vereinbaren. Wenn Männer tatsächlich ein Regime unterhalten würden, in dem sie kein Problem damit hätten, dass 1/3 der Frauen (oder welche Zahl auch immer) vergewaltigt wird und sie problemlos für gleiche Arbeit 23% Lohn abziehen, in dem jedes vor auf die Straße gehen ein Spießrutenlauf ist, dann wäre dies ein Schreckensszenario, in dem man feministischen Protest dagegen ganz anders bekämpfen würde. Denn man nimmt ja offensichtlich auch sonst ziemliches Leid für einen schwer zu bestimmenden Profit hin.
Feminism can only exist in countries where women can be smart enough to understand the concept of oppression; Yet stupid and coddled enough to believe that such words describe the country that they live in. In fact a country has to care about women period for feminism to even be a thing. „Mikroaggressionen, ich brauche sofort Katzenbilder und einen Safespace!!!11elf“ Es ist in der Tat bezeichnend, welche Nichtigkeiten im gegenwärtigen radikalen Feminismus zu unvorstellbar schrecklichen Angriffen aufgeblasen werden. Und damit werden sie dann auch noch ernst genommen, zur UN eingeladen, über feministische Aktionen wird berichtet, sie werden Teil von Gutachterkommissionen, sie gewinnen Preise für ihre Webseiten. Wie soll das zusammenpassen?
Kann man eine „Rape Culture“ aufrechterhalten und gleichzeitig einen feministischen Shitstorm ernstnehmen, weil ein Physiker ein Hemd mit Pinupmädchen trägt? Kann man überall Gleichstellungsbeauftragte einrichten und bei jeder Partei einen feministischen Flügel haben und eine solche Rape Culture aufrechterhalten? Es ist eigentlich nur in der Übertreibung möglich.
If men really dehumanized women in the way that you feminists suggest, men would not treat you with such kindness. Natürlich ist das auch wieder eine Übertreibung, die das eine Extrem dem anderen gegenüber stellt: Entweder Unterdrückung ist absolut oder nicht vorhanden. Man kann abseits des angeketteten Daseins im Keller natürlich diskriminiert und Nachteile haben. Allerdings gibt es schon feministische Texte, in denen die angebliche Verachtung von Männern oder der Gesellschaft gegenüber Frauen auf eine Weise dargestellt wird, die in der Tat eher dem Anketten im Keller entspricht. Und Autorinnen wie Rich sahen das ja im Prinzip auch so: Zwangsheterosexualisiert, jeder Sex im Endeffekt eine Vergewaltigung. Das ist nicht weit von der Schilderung weg
Feminists act as though men treat them like slaves or objects that they are entitled to. You don’t negotiate with slaves. Men don’t have to talk objects into sleeping with them. If you think that a guy being super nice to you, buying you stuff, and then performing oral sex on you is slavery, then it’s time you cracked open a history textbook. Because I don’t think that you understand these things.
Das ist in der Tat richtig. Wobei im intersektionalen Feminismus ein Vergleich mit Sklaven für weiße Feministinnen ohnehin verboten wäre. Aber auch der Objektevorwurf an sich ist kaum zu rechtfertigen. Im Gegenteil: Frauen werden nicht auf Plattformen gestellt um sie zu verkaufen, sondern um sie empor zu heben und ihre Wünsche umzusetzen.
If you live in an oppressive regime, you get treated as being worse than shit. Then if you are lucky, you get treated like dirt. If you’re really lucky, one day you’ll be treated like a barnyard animal. You don’t get treated like a human being, you get treated as merely a means to an end. You are merely a tool used to accomplish a goal. You’re easily replaced, easily discarded, and nobody cares if you die aside from your family. There’s no one to protect you from getting raped or murdered and nobody cares if those things happen to you and you can’t report it.
Auch die Darstellung unseres Justizwesens als geradezu Pro-Rape ist in der Tat durch nichts gerechtfertigt. Aber es ist schon interessant, dass Feministinnen in der Justiz das Patriarchat sitzen sehen und einige Männerrechtler im Gegenzug den Staatsfeminismus
It’s time that you feminists woke up. First world governments bend over backwards to give you things that you want. People care that you picket in the streets, as you’ve been given the right to do so as a full citizen of a first world country. You get food, and medical care. There are people who at least attempt to enforce laws here, and those laws are for the most part pretty fair when compared to a good portion of the world.
In der Tat leben wir nicht in der schlechtesten denkbaren Welt für Frauen, sondern im Gegenteil im Westen in der bisher besten Welt für Frauen. Sie bilden die Mehrheit der Wähler, sie haben auch sonst alle Rechte, die Männer haben, die Eherechte sind eher zu Gunsten der Frauen ausgestaltet.
There is no patriarchy. The glass ceiling is something that you’ve constructed for yourself. It’s a barrier that you’ve created for yourself as a spoiled entiled woman with first world problems. You have the greatest amount of personal choice when compared to most of the world and yet that is never enough for you. It’s not enough that men here protect you, give you rights, give you freedom, and share all their possessions with you. No, you want all those things and to then be able to shit all over men while you receive them. You want to be able to act like a total asshole to everyone, and call anyone that complains a misogynist.
Deutliche Worte. Aber durchaus angemessen für den radikalen Feminismus
